Red Dragon Acai Bowl


Dragon Fruit (aka Pitaya) is in season! In particular, the RED ones, which really are this amazingly fabulous MAGENTA / FUCHSIA color. Dragon fruit, although some people consider it quite bland to the taste buds, is rich in vitamins C, B1, B2, and B3, and is loaded up with minerals such as iron, calcium and phosphorus*.  
This recipe combines the benefits of this seasonal tropical fruit with the superpowers of acai, and the probiotic benefits of QUOlixir, creating a mighty magical smoothie bowl!! 

Get ready to be MAGICAL!

Prep time : 5 mins

1 generous serving 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 bottle QUOlixir 
  • 1/2 red dragon fruit (aka pitaya)
  • 1 pack single serve frozen acai
  • 1-2 scoops protein powder (we use Nuzest vanilla plant protein)
  • 1 tbsp golden flaxseed meal
  • 1 handful of cashews / almonds (raw or roasted)
  • 1 tsp baobab

For garnish :

  • diced red dragon fruit 
  • raw cacao nibs
  • of course, always add YOUR faves!! 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut red dragon fruit in half, and peel off the skin.
  2. Add all ingredients into the blender / food processor.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4.  Pour into a bowl. 
  5. Add your favorite toppings.
  6. Grab a spoon and enjoy!
